Florence Childs, 81, a widow from Spokane, Washington, retired as a tax account before winning a pot store licence back in May 2014, when the state Liquor and Cannabis Board (LCB) held lottery for 334 store retail licenses.
Childs is now selling her 1,600 square-foot store, The Top Shelf. She plans to retire a second time saying “My ultimate dream has always been a European cruise with my daughter to visit as many countries as I can.” The Top Shelf has had almost $700,000 in sales since January 2015.
The Top Shelf is located in Airway Heights, just off I-90, five minutes from Spokane, next to a Wal-Mart and casino, Airway Heights has a population is 6,426, with about 2,100 of those residents located the Department of Corrections.
The buyer will have to get fingerprinted and run through a criminal-background check. Childs is looking for cash-only deals (and no phone calls) in inquiries about her store; her ad lists [email protected] as an email address. She said she’s not interested in profit-sharing or royalties.
