Details:: A judge in north-coast Ocho Rios has sentenced two police officers to nine years in prison each for attempting to smuggle cocaine onto a cruise ship. In handing down the sentences, Judge John Moodie also gave Donald Palmer and Stanley Maize fines of 350,000 Jamaican dollars. As members of the police immigration department, Palmer and Maize were assigned to inspect a docked cruise ship in the tourist town of Montego Bay, near Ocho Rios. Narcotics agents arrested and charged the two officers May 23 after catching them smuggling cocaine onto the ship
