Steven Keith Jackson

Date: July 4, 2006
Bruise: Drug Smuggler
Bruise Location: Bermuda
Age: 46
Home Town: Prospect Park, Pennsylvania
Cruise Line: Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines
Ship: Empress of the Seas
Attorney: None
Details: Jackson was on a 7-night cruise aboard the Empress Of The Seas, on an American 4th of July, Independence Day celebration cruise. The cruise price started at $839pp.

The ship departed from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at 3pm and was due back on July 8, 2006 at 6:00AM.

The voyage included two days in St. Georges, Bermuda, after one day at sea. Then, three days in Hamilton, Bermuda, followed by another day at sea, as the vessel returned home.

Jackson apparently managed to get past security when he boarded the Empress Of The Seas, and remained undetected until arriving in Bermuda. It is unclear how much marijuana he initially had when he boarded the Empress Of The Seas.

Bermuda police have been very active in preventing drug smugglers from bringing illegal drugs into their nation, a well known fact among travelers.
Jackson was caught with seven cannabis cigarettes in his cabin on the Empress of the Seas.

He was arrested and charged with smuggling marijuana into Bermuda.

He appeared in court, pleaded guilty, and was fined $1500, according to Bermuda Crown counsel Carrington Mahoney.
